Hull Trains is helping children this Christmas

19/12/2015

The offices of local rail operator Hull Trains are based within a minute's walk of Paragon Interchange in Hull City Centre. As well as transporting thousands of people between Hull and London King's Cross each week, the team are in the middle of supporting Hull Children’s University’s Breakfast with Santa events by wrapping and donating presents to give to deserving youngsters.

On Tuesday 15th December, Santa and the HCU Elves visited seven local schools to surprise them with special treats. Hull Trains donated a gift for each child in their selected school.

Jenny Wilkinson, Commercial Manager at Hull Trains says: “As a local firm we’re very much committed to supporting local youngsters and Hull schools. It’s a sad fact that many of the children involved will get very little presents this Christmas, so to see their faces light up when Santa arrives with a huge sack of toys for them is really magical and what Christmas is all about.”

Natasha Banke at Hull Children’s University says: “Without the support of businesses such as Hull Trains, Breakfast with Santa would not be possible and it really makes such a big difference to the children.”

Hull Children's University will be bringing Breakfast with Santa to 11 Hull primary schools in areas of deprivation. 502 children in reception class and Year One will be receiving gifts.

Hull Trains will also be holding a two-day Christmas jumper event on December 23rd and 24th to raise funds for Dove House Hospice.
