Give The Gift of Theatre

A festive trip to the theatre is a treasured childhood memory for many people, but due to a variety of reasons many families across Hull aren't able to have this wonderful experience. Hull Truck Theatre launchedGive The Gift of Theatre in 2014 to help those facing challenging financial circumstances to be inspired by performance, both at Christmas and throughout the year.
A total of 732 local children have already benefitted from the scheme this Christmas, attending the theatre’s production of Sleeping Beauty with their schools or families.
Donating to the campaign will allow even more disadvantaged children and families to experience the magic of a production at Hull Truck Theatre and create exciting, lasting memories together. Supporters of the campaign will help Hull Truck Theatre engage with the entire local community all year round, allowing some Hull residents to visit the theatre for the first time.
A donation of £12 will pay for a child’s ticket to a Hull Truck Theatre show, such as Sleeping Beauty, which runs until Saturday 9 January. £50 will allow a family to enjoy a trip to the theatre together, and a larger donation of £200 will sponsor a school group on a theatre visit. Give The Gift of Theatre runs in association with Hull Children’s University, and this year is sponsored by NPS Humber Ltd, Property Consultants.
