Support Middle Child's Fruit Pantomime

08/11/2016

Middle Child is a not for profit theatre company, committed to making performances that reflect and promote the lives of Hull's residents.

Our annual pantomime is held at Fruit on Humber Street. The aim is to produce an affordable and alternative show for families in Hull to enjoy each year. Produced since 2012, we have always held local storylines, characters and references at the heart of the production.

Tickets are affordable for families living in Hull and a fraction of the cost of other annual pantomimes that run at well-known theatres within the city.

In 2016, we will be working with nationally-acclaimed playwright Tom Wells - a Hull local himself - on a production of 'Dick Whittington'. The show will star a cast of seven local performers, with the local production company all based in the City.

With 26 shows scheduled between 17th and 29th December, we are expecting to welcome over 3,000 Hull family and friends through the pantomime doors in 2016.

Visit https://www.spacehive.com/middlechildpanto to pledge your support.

What we'll deliver:

  • pay for the making and purchase of props and costumes needed
  • subsidise general admission ticket prices
  • 200 tickets to be given away to community groups in Hull most in need

Why it's a great idea:

We want more families in Hull to have the opportunity to attend the theatre; watching theatre can often be a defining moment that stays with you for the rest of your life. Our pantomime is a cost-effective alternative for any family wanting to take their child to see their first professional pantomime production.

For the past three years, we have also given free tickets away to the William Booth House - an organisation providing services to the homeless throughout Hull. The offer has consistently been met with joy, at a time of year when many are most in need. We would love to extend this offer in 2016 (if interested please email mungo@middlechildtheatre.co.uk).
