Relaxed performance of Peter Pan

21/11/2017

Darren Day, Brendan Sheerin, Charlie Hardwick, Jonny Labey, Sid Sloane and Ricky K are setting sail for Hull to lead the cast in Peter Pan, this year’s high-flying pantomime adventure.

The sensational six will star at Hull New Theatre this Christmas in the first pantomime to be performed at the venue following its £16m refurbishment.

Panto-goers are also invited to enjoy a special relaxed performance on Wednesday 13 December at 7pm. Relaxed performances are specifically designed to welcome people with a learning disability, Down's Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Condition or sensory and communication disorders and their families.

There will be a relaxed attitude to noise and movement and small changes to the lighting and sound effects with the atmosphere sometimes described as the opposite to that of the quiet carriage on a train.

Relaxed performances are a fantastic way to offer families the chance to experience theatre together and benefit from an environment where the performance is adjusted to reduce anxiety or stress. Tickets for the relaxed performance can only be booked by calling 01482 300 306 or by visiting the Hull New Theatre or Hull City Hall box offices. There will also be a signed performance at 7pm on Tuesday 19 December.

Peter Pan is set to be the biggest pantomime ever to play Hull New Theatre, with spectacular high-flying effects and an unmissable underwater 3D sequence which will take the audience on an adventure deep into the ocean.

With a fabulous cast and orchestra, laugh-out-loud comedy, bundles of audience participation, stunning scenery and special effects, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses, the show has all of the ingredients of a traditional family pantomime.

And in a twist to the traditional story to honour Hull UK City of Culture 2017, Peter Pan will no longer be set in London with the Darling family instead hailing from Hull from where they travel across the skies to Neverland.

Peter Pan will be staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s biggest pantomime producer and the same team behind the Hull New Theatre panto since 2005.

With stage and screen star Darren Day, Coach Trip’s Brendan Sheerin, soap stars Charlie Hardwick and Jonny Labey, CBeebies legend Sid Sloane and BGT finalist Ricky K, Peter Pan has the biggest panto line-up in Hull New Theatre’s recent history and is one audiences in East Yorkshire will not want to miss.

Tickets for Peter Pan at Hull New Theatre from Thursday 7 December to Sunday 31 December are from £14.50. There are matinee and evening performances daily except Monday 11 December, Monday 18 December and Christmas Day when there are no performances.
