Festive events this December

As everyone starts to get into the festive spirit, there are lots of Christmas themed family events and activities taking place throughout December.
Councillor Terry Geraghty, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, culture, events and public well-being said:
“There are many festive, family events and activities taking place in the run up to Christmas for everyone to enjoy.
“The Victorian Christmas event, held in the Museums Quarter, began the festivities and was enjoyed by around 10,000 people.
“Residents and visitors can embrace the magic of Christmas through music, arts and culture at forthcoming events including concerts, the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime, Christmas craft sessions and Christmas markets, as well as visiting one of the city’s eight free Museums and award winning Ferens Art Gallery.”
Some of the many events taking place in Hull over the festive season include:
Festival of Carols, Monday 2 December, 7.30pm. Choirs from around 40 of Hull's Primary Schools will perform carols and a nativity.
Lord Mayor's Carol Concert, Wednesday 4 December, 7.30pm at the Guildhall.
Jack and the Beanstalk, pantomime spectacular running from 5 December to 5 January, with Christopher Biggins and Bob Carolgees.
Holidays are coming to Hull! The return of the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas truck comes to the city on Thursday 5 December and will be in Queen Victoria Square, which will be transformed into a snowy winter wonderland, between 1pm and 9pm.
Learn how to make your own Christmas Pomander, Thursday 5 December, 4-6pm and create a Christmas Door Hanging on Thursday 12 December, 6-8pm at Kingswood Academy.
The Avenues Adult Education Centre is hosting a range of Christmas Craft sessions, including Watercolour Christmas cards, Christmas Silk Painting, table arrangements and Christmas Pottery; taking place on 5 and 12 December, 10am-12pm, 9, 17 and 19 December, 1pm to 3pm and 18 December 12pm to 3pm.
All For One Choir's A Breath of Christmas on Saturday 7 December, 7.30pm at Hull City Hall promises to be a high calibre uplifting show for all the family.
Opera North Children's Chorus, Saturday 7 December, 7pm, at Holy Trinity Church. Opera North will help you get into the festive spirit with some great seasonal choral works.
City of Hull Youth Bands, Orchestras and Choir Family Christmas Concert taking place on Wednesday 11 December, 7pm at Hull City Hall.
Trinity Christmas Market, Saturday 21 December and Evening Trinity Christmas Market on Thursday 19 December.
Humber Street Market, over 50 stalls on 22 December, 11am to 4pm.
Ferens Art Gallery has a range of exhibitions and art work including the Junior Open which launches on 7 December, showings of the new film about the 700 year old Lorenzetti art work and This City Belongs to Everyone, City of Culture film already viewed by almost one million people.
Ferens is holding a Time Troopers Winter Wonderland event on Saturday 14 December, 11am to 1pm, where children can make their own winter wonderland scene.

East Riding youth Orchestra and Schools' Choir, Saturday 15 December 4pm.
The Searchers Christmas Show, Saturday 22 December, 7pm at Hull City Hall.
