The Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club returns to Hull City Hall on Friday 4th December at 8pm with a stellar line-up of top-notch comedians.
Raymond Mearns is not only outright hilarious but he is also a BAFTA nominated actor and one of the leading lights of Scottish comedy. His list of TV and film credits is as long as your arm (including BBC2's Rab C Nesbitt) and he's regarded not only as one of the top acts in Scotland but also in the UK comedy industry as a whole. He holds the prestigious honour of having been chosen to represent Glagsow at the both the New York Comedy Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Raymond even went on tour with Pete Doherty doing support slots until Doherty was jailed! He also has a deserved reputation for being one of the few comedians around who is just as funny when making stuff up off the top of his head as he is when performing rehearsed material.
Luke Benson is an incredibly talented stand-up making waves on the circuit as a superb act and MC. Luke’s been performing stand up since 2007 and has been a finalist in the Hackney Empire, Amused Moose, Leicester Square Theatre and Mirth Control competitions. He was also nominated for this year’s Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year Award. To top this all off he was named as one of the Top 10 Comics to Look Out For. A likable stage presence and a set full of hilarious stories, original one liners and inventive word-play make this an act not to be missed.
Tom Lucy is something of a unique child prodigy. He's the youngest comedian ever to play professionally at the Comedy Store in London and at just eighteen years old is one of the youngest comedians working professionally on the UK circuit. Having first tried stand up at the age of sixteen, he now performs regularly for some of the country's top comedy clubs and in the last six months, he has supported the likes of Jack Whitehall and Harry Hill on tour. Catch this natural talent while you can.
Paul McMullan is a natural storyteller who will take you back to his times of misdemeanours, mishaps and those embarrassing moments most people would rather forget. This first class raconteur is a punchy, heartfelt, and earnest comedian. A smart dressing, quick fire comic, who is charming and entertaining in equal measure, produces a laugh rate that is the envy of many of his contemporaries and makes him a firm favourite with comedy club fans up and down the country.
The MC for all the above is Damion Larkin, one of Britain’s most promising comedy talents, renowned for being a spontaneous and lovable host. A comedian in his own right, Damion has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the past seven years and was dubbed One of the Top Ten Shows on the Fringe by The Skinny Magazine. As well as being runner up in the North West Comedian of the Year, Damion also enjoyed success at the BBC’s New Comedy Awards and has appeared at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
